Community Support

Bank of Hampton Roads takes an active role in helping the Hampton Roads community. In addition to monetary support provided by our Community Assistance Account, many of our people are involved in service-oriented organizations such as the Rotary, Kiwanis, and Ruritan Clubs. Every year we contribute approximately $100,000 to numerous charities and nonprofit organizations as well as donate many hours of time to various fundraising events. We also provide service charge-free checking to nonprofit civic and social groups.

The Bank's Community Assistance Account is funded primarily with money earned from the annual Bank of Hampton Roads Charitable Golf Classic. Since the tournament's inception, we have raised over $500,000 to help deserving charities and worthwhile causes. We've been told it's one of the best golf outings in Hampton Roads! The tournament is held every year in June and there are several types of sponsorships available. If you would like to participate, please contact Tiffany Glenn at 217-1000.
