The idea for Bank of Hampton Roads started in the 1980's when a number of mergers and acquisitions left Chesapeake without a community bank. The founders, a group of local business owners and community leaders, created Bank of Hampton Roads to be a true community bank.

Since December 1987, the Bank has flourished from its birthplace in a local barn into 18 locations in Southside Hampton Roads. |
